  • Our mission is to better facilitate the matching of talents with recruiters for the purpose of employment. We serve as a link between talents (young professionals), organizations and recruiters.
  • We protect your personal information using industry standard safeguards. We may share your information, with your consent (joining a recruiter network, joining an association and/or joining an event), or as required by law as detailed in this policy, and we will always notify you when there are any significant changes made to The Shortlist Privacy Policy.
  • Our Privacy Policy applies to any Talent, Association/Event administrator, Recruiter or Company. The Shortlist B.V. controls your information.
  • When a talent or recruiter creates an account on The Shortlist, the information provided by the talent (including talents name, email address, digital CV etc.) and the recruiter (industries you operate in, the company/companies you recruiter for, statistics regarding performance or interaction on The Shortlist etc.) can be used to offer you a personalized and relevant experience on The Shortlist.
  • Talents can add professional details – like your job title, education, and skills – to their profile. A complete profile helps a talent be found by companies and recruiters for employment opportunities.
  • Each talent’s personal profile information is private. No recruiter, Association/Event administrator or any other third party is able to find or see the profile details of the talents on The Shortlist unless a talent chooses to share their profile with the recruiter Association/Event administrator in question. Information of a talent is only shared when:
    • A talent chooses to join a recruiter network.
    • A talent expresses interest in a vacancy.
    • A talent joins an association, either through signing up through the association’s personalized landing page or by joining the association through their own accord – clicking “join” on the association’s page.
    • A talent joins an event, either through signing up through the personalized landing page of the event or by joining the event through their own accord – clicking “join” on one of the “Upcoming Events” options (found on talent dashboard).
  • When a talent “joins” an association, either through signing up through the association’s personalized landing page or by joining the association through their own accord – clicking “join” on the association’s page, the talent agrees to their profile information being shared with the association’s administrators. Furthermore, the talent agrees to allow the association administrators to act on their behalf in connecting the talent with recruiters (corporate partners of the association in question). However, the talent is not bound to any recruiter on the platform and may leave a recruiter network at any point.
  • When a talent “joins” an event, either through signing up through the events personalized landing page or by joining the event through their own accord – clicking “join” on one of the “Upcoming Events” options (found on talent dashboard), the talent agrees to their profile information being shared with the event organizers. Furthermore, the talent agrees to allow the event organizers to act on their behalf in connecting the talent with recruiters (corporate partners of the event being organized).
  • Talents are able to terminate the sharing of their profile information with a recruiter by leaving a recruiter network. A talent is able to perform this act any time for any reason. Once a talent has left a recruiter network, that particular recruiter, no longer has any access to the talent in question.
  • We collect information from the devices and networks that you use to access The Shortlist. This information helps us improve and secure our Services. The Shortlist will also use the information gathered to ensure the talents experience is tailored to the individual in question.
  • When you join The Shortlist, you acknowledge that information you provide on your profile can be seen by others, when permitted, and used by The Shortlist as described in this Privacy Policy and our User Agreement.
  • Recruiters that create an account on The Shortlist agree that their profile information (not including sensitive aspects such as email address and/or bank details) can be shared with all available talents on The Shortlist database.
  • The Shortlist is able to communicate with you using The Shortlist messaging, email, and other channels available. The Shortlist may send you messages relating to the availability of the services, security, or other service related issues. The Shortlist may also send promotional In-Mail messages to your Shortlist inbox.
  • With certain communications you send through The Shortlist platform, the recipient can see your name and profile picture (if added by the talent and/or recruiter).
  • We conduct our own surveys and polls and also help third parties do this type of research. Your participation in surveys or polls is up to you. Furthermore, by making an account on The Shortlist, you automatically agree to allow The Shortlist to use any information gathered on your profile or your activities on the platform, for anonymous research purposes (big data). Here, The Shortlist are given permission to analyze and report findings about the general uses and statistics of the user base and provide this anonymous information to parties for research purposes. This anonymous information will also be provided to recruiters, event organizers and association administrators to enhance their effectiveness on the platform.
  • You are responsible for any information you post on The Shortlist, and this content will be accessible to others, when applicable. Talents will only share the information posted with the recruiters, associations and/or events they have joined. Any post from a recruiter in the form of a vacancy or profile information, is viewable to any talent able to view this information.
  • We offer a premium service to recruiters and others, which can be used to search for, organize, and communicate with potential candidates or offer business opportunities. Subscribers to this service may export limited information from talents’ profiles to effectively manage candidate sourcing. This is only applicable to the networks the talent has “joined” recruiter networks, Associations and/or events.
  • We may disclose your personal information if compelled by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if necessary to enforce our User Agreement.
  • If there is a change in control or sale of all or part of The Shortlist, we may share your information with a third party, who will have the right to use that information in line with this Privacy Policy.
  • You can change your Shortlist information at any time by editing your profile, deleting content that you have posted, or by closing your account. Furthermore, you are able to ask The Shortlist for additional information we may have about your account.
  • We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed. For example, we may keep certain information even after you close your account if it is necessary to comply with our legal obligations, meet regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, or enforce this agreement.
  • Please respect the terms of our User Agreement, our Policies, and your fellow Members.
  • You have to meet the minimum age requirements to create an account.
  • We will notify you when we change this Privacy Policy.
  • We don’t share any of your personal information with third parties for direct marketing.
